FoodEnough ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address, display name, age, sex, height, weight, activity level, fitness goals
• When you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided email address, which may be a private relay address rather than your real email

Food & Nutrition Data

• Food logs, meal descriptions, photos, nutritional information, daily summaries, goals

Health Data (Optional)

• Daily step count, active calories, resting/basal metabolic rate, body weight from Apple Health or Health Connect
• Only collected with your explicit permission

Push Notification Tokens

• If you enable notifications, we collect your device's push notification token to send meal reminders, streak notifications, and subscription expiry alerts
• Tokens are stored on our servers and can be disabled in notification preferences

Referral Data

• If you participate in the referral program, we store your referral code and track referrer/referred relationships to grant premium access periods

Usage Data

• Anonymous app interaction patterns, feature usage statistics

How We Use Your Information

• Personalization: Calculate targets, power Adaptive Nutrition Intelligence (ANI), display trends
• Service Operation: Authenticate, store/retrieve data, process AI food recognition

What We Never Do

• Never sell data to third parties
• Never use health data for advertising
• Never share individual data with other users
• Never allow third-party trackers to access health info

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and storage with row-level security
• OpenAI: Food descriptions, photos, and Ask Claudia AI coaching conversations are processed by OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) for nutritional analysis and coaching. Coaching conversation history is stored for context. No health data, account details, or personal information beyond what you type is sent.
• Open Food Facts: Barcode lookups via public database

Health data is never sent to any third-party service.

Data Storage & Security

• TLS/SSL encryption in transit, encrypted at rest
• Row-level security ensures complete data isolation between users
• Secure token storage on device

Health Data Specifics

Apple Health

• Read: Steps, active energy, basal energy, body mass
• Write: Body mass only

Health Connect

• Read: Steps, active calories, basal metabolic rate, weight
• Write: Weight only

Revoking health access stops data collection immediately.

Your Rights

• View all stored data in-app
• Export food logs and nutrition history
• Delete individual entries or your entire account (permanent, irreversible)
• Disconnect health integrations at any time

Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained while your account exists
• Deleted accounts: All data permanently removed within 30 days

Children's Privacy

FoodEnough is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
